Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Director of Resident Care to lead our resident care team in delivering exceptional, person-centered services across assisted living, memory care, and long-term care settings. This pivotal role involves overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive care plans, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a warm, supportive environment for residents with diverse needs—including those living with dementia or requiring specialized Alzheimer's and memory care. Duties Lead and supervise the resident care team to ensure delivery of high-quality, compassionate care aligned with each resident's individual needs and preferences. Develop, review, and update personalized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to promote optimal health outcomes. Oversee medication administration processes to ensure safety, accuracy, and compliance with all regulatory standards. Manage daily operations related to resident services, including staffing schedules, budget oversight, and resource allocation to maintain efficient facility functioning. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to assisted living, nursing home standards, dementia care, and home & community care practices. Foster a positive environment that promotes dignity, independence, and engagement among residents through activity programming and social opportunities. Provide leadership in staff training and development initiatives focused on dementia care techniques, social work principles, and best practices in senior care management. Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to coordinate medical services and support continuity of care for residents with complex health needs. Monitor quality assurance metrics regularly to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions promptly. Maintain accurate documentation related to resident records, incident reports, care plans, and regulatory compliance audits. Qualifications Proven experience in senior care settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or retirement homes—preferably with a focus on dementia or memory care. Strong background in nursing or social work with demonstrated expertise in developing individualized care plans. Extensive knowledge of assisted living regulations, long-term care standards, Alzheimer's/dementia-specific practices, and medication management protocols. Supervisory experience leading multidisciplinary teams within home & community care or group home environments. Exceptional leadership skills combined with operational management capabilities including budgeting and resource planning. Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or complex medical conditions is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to engage residents' families effectively while maintaining professional relationships with healthcare providers. Ability to adapt quickly to changing resident needs while maintaining compliance with all safety protocols.
