The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in food service management, dietary planning, and team leadership, with a strong focus on enhancing the nutritional well-being and satisfaction of residents. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of health regulation policies, clinical nutrition, and food safety standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and nutritious meals. As Culinary Director, you will oversee all aspects of food production, staff supervision, and operational efficiency to foster a positive dining experience that promotes health and wellness. Duties Develop and implement nutritious, appealing menus tailored to the dietary needs of assisted living residents, incorporating clinical nutrition principles. Manage and supervise food service teams, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of service. Oversee food safety management practices in compliance with health codes and regulations, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures. Coordinate with healthcare professionals to conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans that include dietary considerations. Monitor inventory levels and manage budgets effectively to optimize food costs while maintaining quality standards. Ensure accurate documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems related to dietary services and resident care plans. Lead efforts in quality improvement initiatives related to food production, nutrition delivery, and resident satisfaction. Stay informed about current health regulation policies and adapt operations accordingly to maintain compliance across all food service activities. Requirements Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care settings with a focus on dietary services or culinary management. Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, physiology, and dietetics as they relate to aging populations. Demonstrated supervisory experience managing food service teams within regulated environments. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation of care plans and nutritional assessments. Expertise in managing budgets, food safety protocols, and regulatory compliance related to health codes. Ability to perform patient assessments related to nutrition needs and develop appropriate care plans. Knowledge of tube feeding procedures, diagnostic evaluation processes, and acute care nutrition considerations is preferred. Leadership skills with a focus on team management, staff development, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
