Launch Your Career as a Nursing Home Administrator in Western Kentucky Dawson Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center , a small 60-bed skilled nursing facility in Western Kentucky, is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Administrator (Administrator-in-Training) to join our leadership team. This unique opportunity is ideal for professionals aspiring to become Licensed Nursing Home Administrators while gaining hands-on experience in managing all aspects of long-term care operations, including admissions and social services. About the Assistant Administrator Role As an Assistant Nursing Home Administrator at our intimate facility, you will have a broad leadership role that includes managing daily operations and serving as the head of admissions and social services . This position is not an internship but a critical leadership role that offers direct mentorship from experienced administrators and exposure to every facet of skilled nursing facility operations. Key Responsibilities Collaborate closely with the Facility Administrator to oversee daily nursing home operations Lead admissions processes, coordinating resident intake and placement Manage social services, including resident support, counseling, and family communications Participate in leadership and department head meetings Assist with employee recruitment, retention, and staff engagement Support regulatory compliance and prepare for state and federal surveys Help develop and manage budgets and financial reporting Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives Work cross-functionally with nursing, dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, and business office teams Manage special projects focused on operational excellence and resident satisfaction Develop expertise in state and federal long-term care regulations Assume increasing leadership responsibilities throughout the program
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively across healthcare disciplines Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational abilities Commitment to obtain Kentucky Long-Term Care Administrator licensure within 12 months Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred:
Experience in healthcare, long-term care, social services, admissions, human resources, or management Previous supervisory or department head experience Skilled nursing facility experience Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance Licensure Requirement No active Nursing Home Administrator license is required at hire. Candidates must actively pursue and obtain Kentucky Long-Term Care Administrator licensure within 12 months to continue in the program.
