New Orleans, La. Job Summary Jefferson Healthcare Center, a skilled nursing facility, is seeking a reliable and motivated Assistant Dietary Manager to join our team. The Assistant Dietary Manager will work closely with the Dietary Manager to oversee daily dietary operations and ensure our residents receive nutritious, safe, and appealing meals in accordance with their individual dietary needs. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, team-oriented, and committed to providing excellent customer service to our residents. Responsibilities Assist the Dietary Manager with the daily operation of the dietary department. Help supervise and coordinate dietary staff and daily assignments. Ensure meals are prepared and served according to residents' prescribed diets and preferences. Maintain accurate diet information and communicate diet changes to dietary staff. Monitor food quality, portion sizes, presentation, and temperatures. Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and facility policies. Assist with food ordering, inventory control, receiving, and proper food storage. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining area. Assist with staff training and ensure proper dietary procedures are followed. Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding residents' nutritional needs. Address resident concerns regarding meals and dining services in a professional manner. Assist with regulatory and facility inspections as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Administrator. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous dietary, food service, healthcare, long-term care, or skilled nursing experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience is a plus. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, professional, and compassionate attitude.
