Competitive salary Opportunity for advancement Training & development We are hiring for an administrator for a personal care facility located in Gettysburg, PA. We are looking for an experienced personal care home administrator/ marketer. This is a dual-function leadership role. You will involved in the day-to-day operations while also driving occupancy through referral development and outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct all day-to-day operations of the personal care home, ensuring continuous compliance with PA personal care home regulations, licensing standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Maintain the facility license in good standing; prepare for, host, and respond to annual and unannounced state inspections and complaint investigations. Develop, implement, and annually review facility policies and procedures, resident handbooks, and admission agreements. Ensure accurate and current resident records, including assessments, support/service plans, medication records, physician orders, and financial documentation. Investigate, document, and report all incidents, injuries, elopements, medication errors, and allegations of abuse or neglect within required reporting timeframes. Recruit, hire, schedule, train, and supervise direct care and support staff; maintain required staffing coverage and awake-staff requirements on every shift. Track all staff clearances and training — Older Adult Protective Services Act criminal history checks, first aid/CPR, direct care staff competency testing, and the 12 hours of annual direct care training.
Oversee admissions documentation:
pre-admission screening, medical evaluation, resident assessment, support plan, and resident-home contract within required timeframes. Respond to inquiries, give tours, follow up consistently, and convert leads to move-ins. Manage the home's online presence and referral listings; host open houses and community events.
Qualifications:
Personal Care Home Administrator certification — completion of a DHS-approved 100-hour administrator training course and a passing score on the DHS competency-based exam. Per § 2600.64, this must be completed prior to employment as Administrator. Educational qualification — an associate's degree or 60 college credit hours; OR a PA RN license; OR a PA LPN license plus one year of experience in a related field; OR a PA nursing home administrator license. [For homes serving 8 or fewer residents only: a high school diploma or GED plus two years of direct care or administrative experience in human services.] 21 years of age or older. [2+] years of experience in a personal care home, assisted living residence, or comparable licensed setting. Supervisory experience with responsibility for hiring, scheduling, and performance management. Comfort with sales and referral-source outreach — this role owns occupancy, not just operations. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community outreach in Adams County and surrounding areas.
