Job Description
The Independent Living Program Coordinator will provide direct support to youth aging out of foster care and skill building. Coordinates and conducts monthly Regional Youth Advisory Council meetings. Maintains communications and working relationship with appropriate entity contacts regarding current Independent Living activities in the State. Primary contact for the State of Nebraska Independent Living Program Director Attends DHHS Independent Living meetings. Maintains contact with DHHS Independent Living liaisons, as needed. Coordinates all activities for State computer camps. Coordinates and conduct tours to post-secondary education sites Obtains and disburses resource and scholarship information. Trains staff regarding Independent Living transition paperwork and timelines, as needed. Writes and distributes Independent Living newsletter. Serves as resource for workers regarding specialty areas for youth leaving the child welfare system. Provides direct services to youth leaving the child welfare system as requested by supervisors and/or area directors. Seeks and identifies grant opportunities. Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state, and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms. Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels. Ensure clients' rights are protected. Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Service field One-year child welfare direct service or related experience. Must be 21 years of age. Must pass a drug screen, Nebraska Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Clearance, any background checks deemed to be necessary. Lifting requirements 50 lbs.
