Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Term One Theory-Clinical Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and training vocational nursing (LVN/LPN) students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings under the direction and supervision of the Lead Instructor, Academic/Clinical Supervisor, Assistant Director of Nursing, and/or Director of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrate expertise in nursing content areas and course material. Supervise and evaluate students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings. Develop and maintain instructional materials, including modules, tests, and audiovisual aids. Plan and organize clinical learning experiences, ensuring effective achievement of student learning objectives. Maintain records of student grades, attendance, and performance. Attend faculty meetings and participate in peer reviews. Adhere to professional standards and regulations set by the Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technicians.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Associate degree or above preferred (required if below an Associate Degree). Valid California Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse license. Experience in geriatric care, long-term care, or care of the chronically ill. Two or more years of experience in direct patient care. Strong communication and organizational skills.
Personal Requirements:
Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Commitment to continuous professional development. Genuine interest in working with geriatric, acutely ill, and chronically ill populations. Ability to handle emergency situations with resourcefulness and professionalism.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday. Capability to lift, push, pull, and move patients and equipment as required. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
Dress Code:
Professional business-casual attire with a lab coat in the classroom and clinical settings. Scrubs or uniforms with a white lab coat are also acceptable.
