Goodwin University is seeking candidates for part-time adjunct faculty positions in the Nursing department for the LPN program. The University is seeking to add faculty members who are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. •We are looking for candidates to work from our Bridgeport, CT AND East Hartford, CT location•
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Director of the School of Nursing, adjunct faculty are responsible for teaching didactic courses as needed. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach across the curriculum with a preference for any area of specialization in a related field. In addition to teaching, the faculty member is expected to: Pursue scholarly activities Participate in School, University, and Community service Assist in advising students, curriculum development, and program evaluation Participate in commencement and pinning activities as well as special university meetings. Participation in other university and community service activities that are consistent with the mission
Other Functions :
Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates. Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends. Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill :
Demonstrated commitment to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and work in an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity. Ability to effectively communicate with clinical partners, colleagues and students. Qualifications Qualifications Master's degree in nursing, or BSN with intent to complete MSN within 4 years Current and active RN License in the state of Connecticut (or eligible) At least two years' experience as a practicing registered nurse Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of recent teaching experience in a university nursing program. Experience in program and curriculum development Knowledge of current trends and practices in the specific field of study Strong planning and organizational skills Work collegially in a team environment Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
