Annual salary is according to the Non-Bargaining Unit Personnel Salary Schedule and is commensurate with related work experience and education. Responsibilities This is a temporary full-time non-bargaining faculty position and is not on track for continuing contract. The standard contract length is 228 days and is located on the Altamonte Springs campus . Responsibilities include providing effective leadership in developing, conducting, and ongoing assessment of the clinical education component of the Respiratory Care program. Collaborates with the program manager in the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the entire Respiratory Care program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plans, organizes, and teaches didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses in Respiratory Care as assigned, including syllabi, course objectives, evaluations, and grade reports in compliance with SSC master course syllabi. Coordinates and supervises clinical education experiences in collaboration with the Program Manager and Medical Director to ensure students receive appropriate medical, technical, and professional instruction. Develops and maintains performance and proficiency records for all students during clinical education; evaluates clinical instructors and affiliate sites for quality and compliance with CoARC accreditation standards; provides written reports on clinical practicum outcomes and promptly escalates serious clinical issues to the Program Manager. Collaborates with the Program Manager to plan, implement, and assess clinical and lab experiences, evaluation tools, clinical schedules, and site orientations; maintains communication with clinical affiliates and staff regarding student progress and requirements. Ensures all students entering clinical education meet program requirements, including preclinical evaluations, hospital orientation, background check, immunizations, drug testing, and certifications. Engages students in and beyond the classroom, incorporating effective teaching strategies that foster learning, success, and retention. Participates in ongoing program operations including recruitment, equipment maintenance, ordering supplies and textbooks, and supporting discipline-related student activities. Maintains required office hours to assist and counsel students, both individually and in small groups, regarding academic progress and clinical performance. Participates in curriculum improvement, committee work, advisory boards, and college events such as career days and graduation to promote program and student success. Works effectively, respectfully, and productively with individuals from all cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, contributing to a collegial and collaborative work environment. Complies with college policies and procedures, participates in professional growth opportunities (including the SSC Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning), and maintains current licensure and knowledge of discipline and teaching methods. Performs all site- and position-specific responsibilities as assigned; assumes Program Manager duties in their absence as appropriate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in a health-related field from a regionally accredited institution. Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of four years' experience with at least two years in clinical respiratory care. State of Florida RRT license for providing respiratory services, or, if from out-of-state, must be eligible for Florida license and procured prior to hiring. Minimum two (2) years of experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor. Current CPR certification. Clinical sites may require additional requirements. Complete the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program within six months of beginning the DCE role.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS AND SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
Works in a classroom/office environment. May be required to travel between campuses and other local destinations. May be required to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
