Job Summary:
The Purdue Global School of Nursing has an opening for Adjunct Faculty in theASN program. Purdue University Global offers term by term, non-tenured teaching appointments to qualified individuals who are dedicatedto providing quality educational experiences to students in Associates, Bachelors and Masters degree programs. This position offers anexcellent opportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning community wherein faculty contribute to and engage in instructionalbest practice for adult learners in an innovative, nontraditional university setting. Adjunct faculty have part-time teachingroles. Adjunct faculty can teach up to 2 courses per term, not to exceed 10 courses per year. This role participates in continuingprofessional development and may also engage in faculty governance and curriculum work as needed. Additional service activities may beassigned to Adjunct faculty. Scholarship is not required. Teaching assignments for Adjunct faculty may fluctuate and are contingent uponthe schedule of courses. Adjunct faculty deliver high-quality instruction and foster an inclusive and supportive learning environmentconducive to student success. The mission of the on ground, part-time adjunct Nursing Instructor, regardless of the curriculum, isto provide the student(s), our customer(s), with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain entry-level employment in the field of theirchosen program of study. To accomplish this mission, all instructors will utilize their talents, skills, and abilities in a coordinated andconsistent team effort under the guidance and supervision of the Academic Program Head, or his or her designee.
What to expectin this role:
Provides a student-centered learning environment which enables students to attain success. Teachessynchronous or asynchronous seminars (10 week units) as assigned by the School or program. Maintains school-determinedvirtual office hours per week for each class. Ensures timely management and response to electronic correspondence fromstudents, administrators, and other University officials. Leads message board discussion and engages students in relevantdiscussions and coursework. Partners with Academic Advisors to address student concerns. Refer students whoself-identify with a potential need for an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to Student AccessibilityServices (SAS), and comply with all student accommodations communicated by SAS in writing. Maintains and submits accurate and timelyreports for student grades/progress. Delivers mid-term and final grades in accordance with the academic calendar. Enforcesstudent conduct policies as outlined in the University Catalog. Attends University, departmental, and faculty meetings asrequested. Remains current with trends, techniques, and advances in technology that are applicable to theprogram.
Experience:
BSN required. MSN preferred, with 2 years minimum of clinicalexperience Pediatrics experience required Minimum 2 years related teaching experience and/or training (onlineteaching experience is a plus). Higher education teaching experience is preferred. Active, unencumbered registered nursinglicense and/or advanced practice registered nursing license. Onsite location requirements in Council Bluffs What we'relooking for:
• Exceptional computer skills. Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adaptcommunication style and method to suit different audiences. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information withdiscretion. Capable of building strong working relationships across teams, departmentsand Schools.

Adjunct compensation varies per course based on studentenrollment, program type and also includes a contribution to a retirement account. A typical adjunct in the School of Nursing can expect toreceive $3300 per full 10-week course. Retirement account benefits include an automatic 403(b) company contribution of 3% and a companymatch up to an additional 4% with participation in an optional 457(b) plan.
