A Nursing Instructor or Professor teaches nursing students with a combination of classroom instruction and clinical training. Teaches academic subjects needed as the foundation for nursing, such as anatomy and chemistry, and also job skills required for direct patient care. Teaches at a college or in a hospital or other clinical setting.
Salem State University Nursing School of Nursing invites applications for adjunct faculty with interest and experience teaching Public Health in a clinical setting. Teaching assignments may include days, evenings, or weekends and range from 6 to 15 hours/week over the course of the semester.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with faculty, in a school with future-directed leadership and a collective focus on academic excellence, success of our students and faculty development.
Required Qualifications:
Hold a current unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse license. Graduate degree in nursing. Minimum of five years of full-time registered nurse experience within the last eight years. Evidence of clinical competency in clinical instruction. OR Hold a current unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse license. Possess a minimum of five years full-time registered nurse experience within the last eight years. Baccalaureate degree in nursing and meet at least one of the following criteria Matriculation in a graduate nursing program with expected graduation date within five years of the date of appointment. OR Possess a related non-nursing graduate degree. OR Possess a current Nurse Education Certification recognized by a Massachusetts Board certified organization.

Working Location:
This is an onsite position in Salem, MA with some on-campus, in-person responsibilities.
