South Mountain Rehab Center, a healthcare facility located in historic Boonsboro, MD, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) Instructor to join our team. As a GNA Instructor, you will instruct students according to the curriculum designed to assist them in building knowledge and clinical skills aimed at passing the licensing exam for Maryland GNA. You will also assist students in registering for the Maryland State GNA licensing exam.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Participate in development and evaluation of the training program
- Implement the approved training program
- Supervise classroom laboratory experience
- Evaluate student performance in the classroom
- Provide supervision and clinical evaluation of each trainee at the clinical training site
- Work with the Director of Nursing to create a positive learning environment
Required Qualifications:
- RN licensed in Maryland
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, at least 1 year of which was in caring for the elderly or chronically ill in the past 5 years
- Completed a course with a minimum of 16 hours of instruction in the principles of adult education (such as Train the Trainer); or have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience

- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Skilled in teaching adult learners
- Willingness to work on a flexible schedule to meet educational requirements
- Possess strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
