Job Description
Statement of Primary Purpose Provide instructional services to nursing students in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. Classification Curriculum faculty, Adjunct Essential Functions and Responsibilities Prepare and teach assigned courses, both in-person and online, in accordance with course outlines and published course schedule. Maintain accurate records for each course taught, including attendance and student grades. Recommend and assist with curriculum revisions as necessary. Participate in curriculum advisory committee meetings, if applicable. Cooperate in scheduled student evaluations of the instructor and the course. Submit all college reports in an accurate, timely fashion. Be responsible for professional development and maintaining professional competence. Provide clinical education duties as assigned.. Assign and grade clinical education assignments and paperwork. Submit all college reports in an accurate, timely fashion. Attend instructor and departmental meetings as scheduled. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and others. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education Active North Carolina Registered Nurse License. BSN Degree required, MSN-Education preferred (or inprogress) Knowledge and Skills Teaching experience preferred Physical Demands 2 years of clinical nursing experience is required; community college teaching experience is preferred. Desire to teach and guide nursing students in clinical, lab, and simulation. 2 calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse. Knowledge of current nursing practice for registered and licensed practical nurses. Current CPR certification (BLS), qualifying TB test in the last year, vaccinations up to date (titers or waivers accepted for some), or ability to complete clinical onboarding requirements in a timely manner. Licensing Requirement Unencumbered North Carolina RN License or Multistate Compact. Valid NC Driver's License Working Conditions and Environment Travel for training and clinical visits as necessary. Clinical sites may be on weekdays, evenings, and weekends as required. Equipment Operation PC, copier, phones, standard office, and educational applications. Nursing equipment This position description covers the most essential functions and duties associated with this position. Other duties may be assigned by the President or appropriate supervisory personnel.
