Job Summary and Responsibilities RN Clinical Instructor - ACE Preceptor (Medical Surgical Acute) As our RN Clinical Instructor - ACE Preceptor, you will help University of Mary nursing students receive high-quality, hands-on clinical experience so they can achieve their educational and professional goals. Every day you will serve as a frontline nurse leader, cultivating practice experiences while providing direct patient care. You will be expected to guide students through clinical rotations according to the mission of both CHI St. Alexius Health and the University of Mary. To be successful in this role, you must be a clinical nursing expert, mentor, and role model committed to the professional development of future nurses while adhering to established standards. Responsibilities Welcome and orient University of Mary nursing students to the nursing practice setting, fostering a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in accordance with Saint Benedict's admonition, "Let All Be Received as Christ." Model standards of professional nursing practice by acting as a clinical nursing expert, change agent, mentor, and leader to University of Mary students and the CHI St. Alexius Health division. Cultivate hands-on practice experiences for students in the Medical Surgical Acute care setting, utilizing a variety of clinical instruction strategies that challenge student growth in critical thinking and clinical judgment. Provide on-site clinical instruction for two students while simultaneously assuming a typical department patient care assignment. Provide regular, specific verbal and written feedback regarding student clinical performance to University of Mary faculty, focusing on both strengths and areas for growth. Facilitate student development by attending required Division of Nursing meetings and participating in continuing education to maintain currency with clinical practices and simulation technology.
Job Requirements Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Degree Experience:
Minimum two years of bedside nursing experience in the respective area (Medical Surgical Acute)
Licensure:
Current unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in the
State of North Dakota Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Formal preceptor training and/or experience in the role of preceptor with evidence of strong performance Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) and meet required deadlines Knowledge and application of advanced nursing skills with the ability to critically think in complex situations Preferred Qualifications Specialty professional nursing certification Where You'll Work Since 1885, CHI St. Alexius Health has been dedicated to leading health care in this region by enriching the lives of patients through the highest quality of care.
