Part-Time Nursing Faculty - ADN Program Laurel Technical Institute - Uniontown, PA Laurel Technical Institute in Uniontown, PA, is seeking a Part-Time Nursing Faculty Member for our 20-month Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program . The successful candidate will provide high-quality classroom, skills, simulation, and/or clinical instruction while supporting student learning, retention, and academic success. Experience in OB/GYN and/or Pediatrics is a plus. Position Responsibilities The Nursing Faculty Member will: Provide instruction in didactic, skills, simulation, and/or clinical courses as assigned. Maintain quality and consistency in curriculum, classroom instruction, skills/simulation activities, and clinical experiences. Meet regularly with the Director of Nursing to discuss course progress, student concerns, and instructional needs. Coordinate with the Clinical Coordinator regarding assigned simulation, skills, and laboratory activities. Develop, review, and update course materials, including syllabi, course outlines, assignments, and evaluation instruments. Evaluate textbooks and other instructional materials for assigned courses. Teach assigned courses according to the approved schedule. Provide students with course syllabi and outlines during the first week of each term. Maintain required class records and save completed class phone lists in the designated public folder. Grade tests, projects, assignments, and other student work in a timely manner. Regularly evaluate student progress and ensure grades accurately reflect student performance and skills. Identify students who are not making satisfactory progress and provide or coordinate appropriate tutoring and academic support. Complete mid-term progress reports by the required deadlines and obtain student signatures as required. Maintain accurate daily attendance and grades in Canvas. Enter final grades into Canvas at the conclusion of each term. Utilize Canvas and student devices to supplement classroom instruction. Participate actively in student retention initiatives in accordance with school policies. Work with the Director of Nursing and/or Campus Director to address and resolve student concerns. Enforce the school's attendance and tardiness policies. Complete mid-semester clinical evaluations as assigned. Serve as a mentor and resource to new and current students. Adhere to all school policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and School Catalog. Notify the Director of Nursing prior to any absence and provide an appropriate plan for affected classes. Check email at least twice daily and respond or follow up as appropriate. Provide annual documentation of continuing professional development and growth. Maintain all required professional licenses, certifications, degrees, and other credentials necessary to teach assigned courses. Attend scheduled faculty in-services, staff meetings, faculty meetings, and other required meetings. Attend scheduled school events each semester, whether on or off campus. Submit requests for supplies and instructional materials through the appropriate requisition process at least two weeks, preferably four weeks, before materials are needed. Report computer and technology issues to the IT Administrator using the appropriate repair ticket. Maintain assigned classrooms on a daily basis, including erasing boards, turning off computers and heat as appropriate, arranging chairs, and ensuring proper disposal of trash. Report building and maintenance concerns promptly through the appropriate process, including issues involving lighting, furniture, equipment, carpeting, and other classroom needs. Complete end-of-term classroom procedures, including preparing assigned classrooms for the next term, checking supplies and equipment, identifying maintenance needs, and following up as appropriate. Verify required textbooks and quantities prior to the beginning of each term. Participate in Employer Program Advisory Committee meetings when requested. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or administration. Qualifications Nursing faculty must meet the applicable educational, clinical, and licensure requirements for nursing instruction. Candidates must meet one of the following qualification pathways : Option 1: Graduate degree with a major in Nursing; or Bachelor's degree in Nursing and enrollment in a graduate nursing program within one year of employment; At least three years of direct patient-care nursing experience ; and A current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing and/or other applicable state nursing license required for assigned instructional responsibilities. OR Option 2: A baccalaureate degree with a major in Nursing , along with the education, clinical experience, and licensure required for the assigned teaching responsibilities. Additional Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching nursing students in an academic setting. Experience with OB/GYN and/or Pediatrics . Experience with skills laboratory and simulation instruction. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to student success, retention, and professional development. Ability to effectively utilize Canvas and other educational technology.
