Functional Responsibilities:
1. Provide instruction, supervision, and evaluation of student's performance in clinical and lab settings. 2. Supervise and evaluate groups of students (usually 6-10 students) in hospital or health care settings. 3. Understand the objectives of the assigned course and be familiar with the nursing curriculum. 4. Maintain a collaborative and positive relationship with the clinical site, other faculty, and staff. 5. Responsibilities may include work during the day, evening, and/or weekend as determined by the course(s) assigned. 6. Maintain student records, including accurate clinical hours, and sign off at the end of each clinical day. 7. Meet and communicate with students on a regular basis to provide academic feedback. 8. Accurately complete clinical paperwork. 9. Participate in all mandatory trainings, and/or meetings required before and during the semester, to include site-specific orientation. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Appropriate level of education (required): Associates degree within nursing from a regionally accredited college or university. Holds a current, unencumbered license as a registered nurse or multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia. A minimum of five (5) years recent full-time, clinical experience as a registered nurse. Medical/Surgical nursing experience is required.- The qualifications for this wage position (education and years of experience) are aligned with the requirements of the Virginia Board of Nursing for instructors.
