Graduate America is expanding its Vocational Nursing program in Houston, Texas, and is hiring full-time Nursing Instructors (RN) to serve as instructor of record for a block of theory courses. Theory is delivered online; skills labs and clinical instruction are on campus and at affiliated clinical sites. Each instructor owns a defined block of courses on a shared, already-built curriculum, so the work is teaching, assessment, and student success rather than building courses from scratch. Course blocks (one per instructor):

Foundations:

Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Vocational Nursing Concepts, Growth & Development.

Skills & Pharmacology:

Basic Nursing Skills, Pharmacology, Medication Administration.

Medical-Surgical:

Med-Surg I, Med-Surg II, Geriatrics.

Specialties:

Nutrition, Pediatrics, Maternal/Neonatal, Mental Health, Disease Control & Prevention. Position Summary Nursing Instructors teach an assigned block of VN theory courses to multiple cohorts on a 10-week term calendar, about 20 to 24 live instructional hours per week, and share responsibility with the Dean of Nursing for curriculum quality, NCLEX-PN readiness, and program compliance. Qualifications (22 TAC 214.7 - all required) Current, unencumbered Texas RN license in good standing. Minimum three years of active nursing practice, or advanced nursing preparation. Minimum three years of varied nursing experience.

Evidence of teaching ability:

prior faculty, clinical educator, preceptor, or staff-development experience. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred; associate degree in nursing required. Proficiency with a learning management system (Canvas preferred) and online instruction. Responsibilities Teach an assigned block of VN theory courses online to multiple cohorts. Maintain and update course content, item banks, and Canvas materials for your block. Grade, remediate, and document student progress; lead

readiness activities. Supervise students' initial performance of nursing procedures and verify competence before independent practice, as required by the Texas Board of Nursing. Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum review, and Texas Board of Nursing and Texas Workforce Commission compliance activities. Support program approval and accreditation work, including ACEN readiness. Compensation and Professional Support Salary of $70,000 to $95,000 per year, commensurate with education, clinical experience, and teaching experience.
