Competitive, based on experience and qualifications Position Summary Edwin's Healthcare Institute (EHI) is seeking qualified, dedicated, and student-focused Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Vocational Nursing faculty. The LVN Instructor/Faculty member is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in the classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical settings. The instructor will teach and mentor students, evaluate academic and clinical performance, promote patient safety, and maintain a professional, respectful, and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have strong classroom teaching and communication skills, current clinical knowledge, and the ability to explain nursing concepts clearly and effectively to students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide classroom, skills laboratory, and/or clinical instruction within assigned areas of responsibility. Prepare and deliver effective, organized, and engaging nursing lessons using the approved curriculum, syllabus, textbooks, and learning resources. Explain nursing concepts, disease processes, clinical principles, and nursing skills clearly and effectively to students. Create and maintain a positive, respectful, professional, and supportive classroom and clinical learning environment. Maintain appropriate classroom and clinical discipline and follow EHI policies and procedures regarding student conduct. Record and monitor student attendance and communicate attendance requirements and concerns to students and the Program Director. Administer and evaluate examinations, quizzes, skills check-offs, clinical evaluations, and other student assessments. Provide timely, constructive feedback regarding student academic, skills laboratory, and clinical performance. Maintain current course syllabi, lesson plans, curriculum materials, examinations, and other instructional materials. Provide student advisement and assist students with academic progression, graduation requirements, professional development, and career planning. Hold students accountable for meeting academic, clinical, attendance, professional, and safety expectations. Direct and evaluate students during initial nursing procedures and clinical experiences to determine competency and ensure patient safety before students perform procedures independently. Identify and communicate student academic, behavioral, or clinical concerns promptly to the Program Director. Maintain appropriate records related to student attendance, grades, evaluations, clinical performance, and other required documentation. Participate in curriculum development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement. Review and recommend appropriate textbooks, learning resources, supplies, equipment, and instructional materials. Maintain appropriate care, use, and accountability of instructional supplies and equipment. Attend faculty meetings, required training, professional development activities, and other meetings as assigned. Participate in the development, implementation, and enforcement of standards and policies related to student admission, progression, probation, and dismissal. Maintain current knowledge and clinical competence in assigned areas of instruction through continuing education, professional development, conferences, seminars, and appropriate clinical practice. Remain current with nursing practice, technology, educational methods, and applicable regulatory requirements. Participate in EHI activities, including student orientation, open house, graduation ceremonies, and other school events as required. Assist with student recruitment and appropriate community/public relations activities. Contribute to the growth and professional development of the nursing profession. Perform other duties related to the nursing program as assigned by the LVN Program Director. Minimum Qualifications Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license or privilege to practice nursing in the State of Texas. Minimum of three (3) years of varied nursing experience since graduation from an approved nursing program. Advanced preparation in nursing, nursing education, and/or nursing administration may also be considered, as applicable. Demonstrated classroom teaching ability and the ability to effectively present nursing concepts and facilitate student learning. Demonstrated clinical competence and current knowledge in the subject areas assigned for instruction. Ability to communicate complex nursing concepts clearly and effectively to students. Ability to evaluate student learning and provide constructive academic and clinical feedback. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional, organized, and respectful learning environment. Commitment to student success, patient safety, professional nursing standards, and ethical nursing practice. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience teaching nursing students in a classroom, skills laboratory, simulation, or clinical setting. Previous experience as a nursing faculty member, clinical instructor, preceptor, or staff-development educator. BSN, MSN, or higher nursing degree. Current clinical experience in an area related to the assigned course or clinical instruction. Working Conditions Primarily an on-site position involving classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical settings. Clinical instruction may require standing and walking for extended periods. May require early morning clinical schedules depending on assigned clinical sites. Must be able to safely supervise and evaluate nursing students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments. Must maintain professional conduct and comply with EHI policies and applicable regulatory requirements. Why Join EHI?
