Job Description

Concordia University is a Lutheran higher education community committed to helping students develop in mind, body and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and in the world. Position Summary Concordia University seeks applicants for a full-time undergraduate facultyposition in the School of Nursing (SON). The successful candidate is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for classroom,online, blended, and clinical instruction, and other activities relating to nursing education. This is a twelve-month onsite and onlinecontract with the University. This position reports to the Undergraduate Nursing Program Chairperson. Job Duties & Responsibilities Each faculty member is expected to comply with all rules and regulations for Universityfaculty as outlined in the Concordia University Wisconsin & Ann Arbor (CUWAA) and School of Nursing (SON) Faculty Handbooks. In addition,they have the following responsibilities: Academic Implement teaching strategies to meet diverse learningneeds Provide guidance and mentorship to students Provide timely written and verbal feedback related to studentperformance Keep current records of student grades and academic work Participate in ongoing course and program reviewand revision Participate in program governance Clinical Teach and/or coordinate clinicalcourses based on professional expertise Follow SON policies and procedures related to clinical teaching and studentperformance Communicate regularly with course coordinators and program director/chair regarding concerns Workcollaboratively with staff at assigned clinical facilities/agencies Meet the health and vaccination requirements for all healthcare clinical affiliates who partner with SON programs. •These requirements may vary from university requirements. Professional Activity Maintain unencumbered RN licensure and current knowledge of clinical practice within theareas of teaching responsibility Assist with recruitment of students Participate in professional, community, university,and school service Engage in scholarship commensurate with academic rank Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrate effective leadership, organizationalskills, and be a self-starter Work effectively with diverse individuals and organizations Experience with usingtechnology, specifically use of high-fidelity simulation preferred Familiar with higher education Able to deal withinterruptions and work in a fast-paced environment Able to present a Christian and professional manner Possess strongwritten and oral communications skills Able to travel occasionally on behalf of the University All candidates must meetdeadlines and work some night/weekends All Concordia faculty are members of Christian congregations. Membership in a congregationof the Lutheran Church-Missouri synod is preferred. Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/AnnArbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) Education & Experience Current Wisconsin licensure as a registered nurse or eligible for such licensure Master of Science Degree in Nursing and an earned doctorate in nursing or related field Current knowledge of theoreticalprinciples and clinical practice within at least one of the following specialty areas is required: pharmacology, community health,psychological health, med-surg, obstetrics/women's health, leadership and management Previous teaching experience in abaccalaureate or higher degree program is preferred Previous use of innovative and active teaching strategies, includingsimulation and VR Physical Demands/Equipment (Click toView) Compensation & Benefits This is a full-time, exempt (salary) facultyposition.
