Collect, report, analyze, and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level. Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Participate as a productive member of a team. Maintain college learning resources and equipment. Participate in recruitment and retention activities. Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain occupational competency, and ensure knowledge of current laws and regulations related to the profession(s) in which instruction is provided. Minimum QualificationsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated working knowledge of programmatic discipline, curriculum development, effective teaching/learning principles, and evaluation Effective interpersonal communication skills - oral, written, active listening, and non-verbal cues Strong customer service skills which includes working with individuals from diverse backgrounds Ability to manage time, organize work and meet deadlines Ability to effectively integrate technology into instructional delivery and assessment Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal (staff, management, personnel) and external contacts (employers, clients, and vendors) Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work and/or the improvement of processes and/or systems Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and/or with minimal supervision Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities Intermediate level of proficiency with computer software applications such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation programs. Knowledge of and familiarity with video-conferencing and technologies associated with adult-centric teaching and learning, as well as within specific programmatic disciplines, which may include web technologies, operating systems, online program tracking platforms, social media platforms, mobile technology tools, and/or AV/multimedia applications and equipment.EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
24 months (4,000 hours) in active Fire/EMS service. Associate's Degree. Emergency Services Instructor I Certification, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor II (preferred). State of Wisconsin DHS EMS Instructor II license (depending on discipline). Attain and maintain a WTCS teaching certificate. Supplemental Information The Instructor-Firefighting Program position is part of the Fire & EMS Training department in the School of Protective and Human Services and will report to the Associate Dean. •There is 1 vacanc y available. This full-time instructor position will teach on a flexible y ear-round calendar, approximate ly 1410 hours. Teaching ass ig nments include variable hours, including days, evenings, and/or weekends. This position teaches in the firefighting program.Application Details:
