Job Description

OhioHealth is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure high-quality, patient-centered care, and support clinical staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance management. You will coordinate staffing, collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and promote evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Oversee daily nursing operations on assigned unit, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with Ohio Health policies and regulatory standards. Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance feedback for nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and support personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, respect, and teamwork. Coordinate patient flow, staffing assignments, and workload distribution to maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and optimize clinical efficiency and patient experience. Serve as clinical resource and role model at the bedside, supporting staff with complex patient care, critical decision-making, and evidence-based practice implementation. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case management, and ancillary departments to develop and implement effective care plans and discharge planning. Monitor quality, safety, and compliance indicators, participating in audits, root-cause analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and reduce adverse events. Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing development of nursing staff, including precepting, competency validation, and promoting continuing education and professional growth. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, adherence to infection prevention protocols, and compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements. Participate in scheduling, timekeeping review, and resource planning to balance operational needs, staff well-being, and budgetary guidelines.
