Evening Shift Supervisor RN Birmingham Rehabilitation and Wellness Center Birmingham, AL Job Details Full-time $38 - $43 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Opportunities for advancement Qualifications RN License First aid Computer skills Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as Evening Shift Supervisor. In this role, you will oversee clinical operations, coordinate nursing staff, and ensure quality resident care during the evening shift. You will be the primary clinical leader on-site, supporting nursing teams and responding to resident needs.
Schedule:
Evening shift (typically 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM); a few weekends and holidays as scheduled. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support licensed nurses and CNAs during the evening shift Make staffing assignments and adjust coverage to meet resident acuity and regulatory ratios Conduct rounds to monitor resident status, care quality, and safety Respond to clinical emergencies, changes in condition, and family concerns Communicate with physicians and coordinate orders, admissions, and discharges Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with facility policies and state/federal regulations Manage medication administration oversight and address any errors or incidents Serve as the point of contact for staff questions, conflicts, and shift-related issues Report shift events and handoffs to oncoming supervisors and administration Qualifications Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience strongly preferred Current CPR/BLS certification Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergencies Basic computer/EHR proficiency Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods Ability to assist with resident transfers and lift as required
