A Charge Nurse supervises and supports a nursing staff, while also treating a limited number of patients. Evaluates other nurses and acts as an educational resource for nurses. Provides guidance on administering care to new patients or those with special needs and answers questions regarding protocol. Directs admission, discharge and general flow of patients.

Job Description

Job Summary:
Delegate assignments to team members based on complexity, staff education and competency. Administer medication, IV therapy, and nursing policies. Make rounds on new admits as well as any issues. Evaluate staffing based on census and make changes accordingly. Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences. Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing and currently licensed in the state of Alabama.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience as a registered nurse. Supervisor experience preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Possess excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with guests. Proficient oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills required. Must be ACLS certified.
