Job Description

Local Travel Med/Surg Charge RN for a 13-week contract near Dothan, Alabama. Responsible for delivering safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients while leading unit operations and coordinating care. Offers competitive weekly compensation and the opportunity to advance clinical leadership in a local travel setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide safe, compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients. Serve as Charge RN, coordinating patient care and supporting daily unit operations. Supervise and collaborate with nursing staff to promote efficient patient-care delivery. Assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate treatment responses. Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility policies. Monitor patient conditions, recognizing changes that require prompt intervention. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, ancillary staff, patients, and families. Delegate nursing responsibilities while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes. Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and overall care coordination. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and adhere to facility requirements. Follow infection prevention, patient-safety, and quality-assurance standards. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing team members during shifts.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Alabama. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required. Current and complete immunization, health screening, and compliance documentation. Previous Med/Surg nursing experience. Strong medical-surgical clinical skills. Previous Charge RN or nursing leadership experience preferred. Experience coordinating care and delegating assignments in an inpatient setting preferred. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Strong assessment, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Additional education or training related to leadership or nursing management. Previous Charge RN or nursing leadership experience. Experience coordinating care and delegating assignments in an inpatient setting. #CHCPERM
