Job Description

Traveling Medical-Surgical Charge RN for a 13-week contract in Ozark, Alabama. Responsible for leading nursing care, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring high-quality outcomes while receiving competitive weekly compensation up to $2,160. Ideal for experienced RN with Med/Surg and charge nurse experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide safe, compassionate, high-quality care to adult medical-surgical patients. Serve as Charge RN, coordinating patient care and supporting daily unit operations. Supervise, collaborate, and lead nursing staff to promote efficient patient care delivery. Assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate responses to treatment. Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility policies. Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring prompt intervention. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, ancillary staff, patients, and families. Delegate nursing responsibilities while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes. Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and care coordination. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation per facility requirements. Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and quality assurance standards. Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and prioritize care in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Alabama. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on facility and patient population. Current and complete immunization, health screening, and compliance documentation as required by the client facility. Previous Med/Surg nursing experience required. Strong medical-surgical clinical skills required. Strong assessment, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Preferred Skills:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Previous Charge RN or nursing leadership experience strongly preferred. Experience coordinating care and delegating assignments in an inpatient setting preferred. #CHCPERM
