Position Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) - 7PM-7AM Night Shift Supervisor The Registered Nurse (RN) Night Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical leadership and overseeing nursing operations throughout the facility during the 7PM-7AM shift . This role supervises and supports nursing staff, monitors resident care, assists with staffing needs, and ensures residents receive exceptional, person-centered care throughout the night. The Night Shift Supervisor works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and nursing leadership team to maintain quality standards, ensure regulatory compliance, support nursing staff, and promote positive resident outcomes.
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing required Must have at least two years of nursing experience Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred Prior supervisory or nursing leadership experience strongly preferred Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and organizational skills Ability to make independent clinical and operational decisions when necessary Ability to lead and support a nursing team with professionalism, accountability, and compassion Excellent communication skills with staff, residents, families, physicians, and facility leadership
Key Responsibilities:
Provide facility-wide nursing supervision and clinical leadership throughout the 7PM-7AM shift Supervise, guide, and support RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing personnel Monitor resident conditions and ensure changes are appropriately assessed, documented, and communicated Respond to clinical concerns, changes in condition, emergencies, and other resident-care needs during the shift Ensure nursing assignments and staffing coverage are maintained throughout the night, including assisting with coverage for call-ins Ensure care plans, physician orders, treatments, and nursing standards are followed appropriately Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers and ensure new admissions have necessary medications, treatments, equipment, and supplies Address resident, family, and staff concerns that arise during the shift and communicate significant issues to the appropriate leadership Ensure compliance with federal, state, company, and facility regulations, policies, and procedures Support infection prevention, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives Provide coaching, guidance, and support to nursing staff to promote accountability, teamwork, and high-quality resident care Communicate significant resident, staffing, or operational concerns to the Director of Nursing and appropriate leadership Complete required supervisory documentation, reports, and follow-up as necessary
