Job Description
OhioHealth is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure high-quality, patient-centered care, and support clinical staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance management. You will coordinate staffing, collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and promote evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership for the nursing team within the Healthcare & Medical Services department, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, including scheduling, performance feedback, coaching, and supporting professional development. Coordinate patient care activities, collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes. Monitor adherence to clinical standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, addressing gaps in practice and driving continuous quality improvement. Lead and participate in quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives aligned with Ohio Health's mission, vision, and values. Support staffing and resource allocation, including patient assignments, workload balancing, and efficient use of supplies and equipment. Serve as an on-the-unit clinical resource and role model, providing guidance on complex patient situations and evidence-based practice. Foster an inclusive, compassionate, and respectful work environment that emphasizes diversity, equity, and collaboration. Facilitate and support staff education, orientation, and competency validation, encouraging ongoing learning and certification. Respond to and assist with emergencies, escalated patient or family concerns, and incident follow-up, ensuring timely communication and resolution. Use electronic health records and clinical information systems effectively to support safe, accurate, and efficient care delivery. Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement process improvements that enhance clinical outcomes, throughput, and patient satisfaction.
