Registered Nurse Peri-Operative (OR) Coordinator Pinnacle Surgery Center Pinnacle Surgery Center is seeking an experienced and highly organized Registered Nurse Peri-Operative (OR) Coordinator to support the daily operations of our peri-operative department. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the OR Coordinator provides clinical leadership, supports staff development, promotes efficient operations, and helps ensure compliance with applicable regulations, accreditation standards, and center policies. Position Overview The Peri-Operative (OR) Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of assigned department staff. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, situational awareness, communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively manage changing priorities in a fast-paced surgical environment. The Coordinator works collaboratively with leadership and other departments, provides cross-coverage when needed, and serves as an educator, mentor, and resource for staff. Key Responsibilities Provide daily supervision and coordination of assigned OR staff. Maintain competency as an OR Circulator Registered Nurse and meet the duties and responsibilities associated with that role. Assess staff competencies and coordinate training and development opportunities. Promote an efficient, positive, and collaborative employee work experience. Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, physicians, management, patients, and other members of the healthcare team. Demonstrate exceptional situational awareness and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances. Manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and adjust focus according to operational needs. Support cross-coverage of other departments when necessary. Exercise independent judgment and problem-solving skills while communicating decisions and action plans effectively. Investigate operational issues, develop action plans, and participate in process-improvement initiatives. Promote quality, productivity, reliability, safety, infection control, compliance, and adherence to organizational policies. Recognize employee accomplishments and support staff in meeting or exceeding performance expectations. Identify opportunities for innovation and improved processes. Collaborate with peer leaders and management to achieve operational goals. Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors, Administrator, or management. Required Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license . Minimum two years of nursing experience . Current BLS certification . Current ACLS certification . Ability to meet the competencies and responsibilities of an OR Circulator RN. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing. Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience. Specialty certification related to the department. Technical & Professional Skills This position requires the ability to: Read, analyze, and interpret professional, technical, and regulatory materials. Prepare reports, correspondence, and procedure-related documents. Communicate effectively with groups of managers, physicians, patients, clients, and the public. Work with basic mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations. Use Microsoft Word, email, scheduling software, facility information systems, and electronic medical records. Define problems, gather information, establish facts, and develop appropriate solutions. Work Schedule & Physical Requirements This position requires flexibility to work variable hours based on the Center's daily surgical schedule . The role involves regular standing and walking, frequent patient care and escorting, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds . The position may also require assisting patients, carrying medical equipment, and performing activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and lifting. Work Environment The Peri-Operative OR Coordinator works in a surgical healthcare environment that may include exposure to medical equipment, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, infectious diseases, noise, odors, and frequent interruptions.
