This role bridges clinical operations, IT, quality improvement, revenue cycle, and executive leadership to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and organizational performance. The Director drives data-informed decision-making, population health clinical management, value-based care initiatives, quality improvement, and reporting requirements for HRSA programs, including PCMH, JC, OSHPOD, HEDIS, UDS, Medi-Cal, and other regulatory standards and requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Healthcare Data Analytics & Reporting:
Direct enterprise reporting, analytics, dashboard development, and business intelligence initiatives. Establish and maintain data governance practices to ensure data accuracy, integrity, accessibility, and reliability. Support predictive analytics, business intelligence, risk stratification, and data-driven decision-making initiatives. Support analytics related to access, health equity, chronic disease management, preventive care, and underserved population health initiatives.
Oversee reporting requirements related to:
Uniform Data System (UDS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Medi-Cal Managed Care reporting requirements CalAIM-related data and quality initiatives Value-based care programs Population health initiatives
Regulatory Compliance & Data Security:
Ensure clinical information systems support compliance with:
HIPAA HRSA
requirements CMS regulations Joint Commission standards (when applicable) California healthcare regulations Partner with Information Technology, Information Security, Compliance, and Quality teams to support data privacy, security, access controls, and audit readiness. Support cybersecurity initiatives related to clinical applications and healthcare data. Ensure appropriate clinical data management practices are maintained across healthcare technology platforms.
Quality Improvement & Patient Safety:
Collaborate with Quality Improvement leadership to develop data-driven improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows, operational efficiency, patient outcomes, and patient safety. Support quality improvement initiatives through clinical technology optimization and analytics. Measure and evaluate outcomes resulting from clinical system changes. Use analytics to support continuous improvement, performance management, and organizational goals.
Leadership & Staff Development:
Recruit, mentor, coach, and evaluate informatics and analytics team members. Build a high-performing team focused on innovation, service excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Develop training and education programs supporting clinical technology adoption. Foster strong partnerships between information technology, clinical operations, quality, and administrative teams. Promote professional development and continuous learning.
Experience:
7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare informatics, clinical applications, healthcare analytics, or healthcare technology leadership. Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience. Demonstrated experience managing and optimizing electronic health record systems. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and enterprise technology initiatives. Ambulatory healthcare experience. (Preferred) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience. (Preferred) Multi-site healthcare operations experience. (Preferred) Experience with clinical transformation and practice improvement initiatives. (Preferred) Experience supporting healthcare analytics, quality reporting, and population health initiatives. (Preferred) Experience with ambulatory EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Epic, Athenahealth, Oracle Health/Cerner, or similar platforms. (Preferred)
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Information Systems, Computer Science, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related healthcare discipline. (Required) RN licensure in the State of California. ( Required ) Master's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related discipline. (Preferred)
Preferred Certifications:
Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) Certified Professional in Health Informatics (CPHI) Project Management Professional (PMP)
Lean Six Sigma Certification Pay:
$95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
