POSITION SUMMARY
The Wellness Supervisor is a key position in our thriving, well-established, fast-paced, memory care community. RESPONSIBILITES
- Ensure quality care from wellness staff.
- Create/maintain staffing schedule with limited overtime.
- Must rotate on-call phone as designated by Director of Wellness.
On-call for:
staffing needs, fill-in for shifts on occasion, and providing directions to staff as needed.
- Supervision of wellness department staff.
- Assist Wellness Director in pre-appraisal & re-appraisal of residents for appropriateness in our setting.
- Along with Wellness Coordinator, acts as point of contact during shift for communication with supervisors, doctors, and families.
- Contribute to resident/family care conferences with Wellness Director and families.
- Ensure that Med Techs communicate with residents and families to ensure that medical needs of residents are met. Contact physicians when necessary.
- Inform dietary services of any special diet needs of residents under direction from the Wellness Director.
- Ensure that hospice residents are receiving quality care, and that staff and family are kept in the communication loop.
- Train staff in community policies and procedures with emphasis on the Wellness department procedures.
- Oversee ordering of pharmaceuticals, medical and caregiving supplies.
- With assistance & support of Wellness Director, ensure that narcotic medication is secured with limited access and inventoried on regular basis.
- Ensure that wellness staff receive the appropriate training as required by state regulations & company policies.
- Review daily care log and address any pending problems.
- Ensure that incident reports are submitted to the administrator and Wellness Director.
- Supervise care staff on the floor daily.
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
- All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBITLIES
This position will directly supervise wellness department.
KNOWLEDGE
- Microsoft Office/365, Excel, Word & ability to learn our computer-based MAR system
- Able to learn our computer-based MAR system
- Proficient in handwritten reporting
- Familiar with Title 22 and other pertinent State and federal laws and regulations
- Able to follow Cal/OSHA safety guidelines
- Human resources principles and timekeeping practices
- Must understand Dementia and the aging process
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- At least 18 years of age.
- Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and DOJ Fingerprint Clearance.
- Able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language fluently.
- Must have 2 years' experience in Senior Living experience.
- Must have 2 years' supervisory experience.
- LVN preferred but not required.
- First Aid/ CPR Certified preferred. If not, must be able to complete upon start.
- Special skills needed to meet client needs [

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
- Able to lead a team and foster teamwork with all departments.
- Must be flexible in availability and additional responsibilities.
- Ability to be on-call/carry on-call phone after hours.
- Strong written and oral expression skills.
- Able to follow physician's direction and care plans.
- Able to solve problems effectively.
- Able to coordinate multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to move residents and support their physical needs.
- Physical ability to assist residents as needed.
- Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Able to bend, twist, and move easily.
Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
