The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations of assigned nursing units within the long-term care facility. This role provides leadership and supervision to nursing staff, ensures high-quality resident care, maintains regulatory compliance, and promotes a safe and supportive environment for residents, families, and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership Supervise and coordinate nursing care provided by RNs, LPNs, Med Techs, and CNAs on assigned units Ensure residents receive quality, individualized care in accordance with physician orders and care plans Monitor resident conditions and respond appropriately to changes in health status Participate in resident assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings Promote infection prevention and resident safety practices Staff Management Schedule, supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff performance Provide coaching, education, and ongoing staff development Assist with orientation and training of new employees Address staffing concerns and support employee engagement and retention Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies Maintain accurate clinical documentation and audits Assist during state surveys and regulatory inspections Implement quality improvement initiatives and corrective action plans as needed Communication & Collaboration Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members Address resident and family concerns professionally and promptly Collaborate with administration and department leaders to improve resident outcomes and operational efficiency Qualifications Current LPN nursing license in Colorado Minimum of 2-5 years nursing experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric care Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills CPR certification required Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to [50] pounds as needed Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Must be able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment Schedule Full-time Day shift Weekends and on-call rotation is required Benefits Competitive salary Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Continuing education opportunitiesJob Type:
