Mental health and/or behavioral health experience a plus. Responsibilities Lead and supervise nursing staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and quality care practices. Coordinate patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and oversee medical documentation including medical records and electronic health records (EHR systems). Manage staffing schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and oversee team performance to maintain optimal patient care delivery. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control policies, and other regulatory requirements. Facilitate communication among multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Oversee medication administration, catheter care, tube feeding management, and basic life support (BLS) protocols. Conduct regular audits of clinical practices such as medical documentation accuracy, and utilization review processes. Support discharge planning, family education, and post-care follow-up to promote continuity of care. Foster a positive work environment by supervising staff development initiatives and providing mentorship in areas like dementia care, behavioral health and mental health, and geriatrics. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems for accurate documentation and data management. Strong leadership skills with demonstrated supervising experience in nursing management roles. Expertise in patient assessment techniques involving vital signs, physiology knowledge, physical examinations, laboratory experience including specimen collection/processing. Ability to perform invasive procedures such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, suturing, catheterization including Foley catheters or PICC lines. Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia patients. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards for safeguarding patient information while managing medical records securely.
