Supervisor of Assisted Living (SALSA) Job description: Avery Heights is known for the exceptional people who live here and for the exceptional people who work here. As a member of our staff, you will play an integral role in helping us provide the highest level of care and service for our clients. We're looking for people who share our passion and commitment. The Supervisor Assisted Living Services Agency (SALSA) reports to the Administrator of the Avery Heights Home Health Agency and is responsible for the overall supervision, provision, and quality of care provided under the Assisted Living Services Agency license. Additional responsibilities include selection, training, discipline and supervision for all nurses and nurses' aides. Coordinates with outside agencies in support of client needs within the community. Paid on call rotation approximately every five weeks. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. SALSA is a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in CT state who has one of the following: a baccalaureate degree in nursing and a minimum of two (2) full time or full-time equivalent clinical experience in nursing, at least one (1) of which shall be in a home health care agency or community health program that included care of the sick at home; or a diploma or associate degree in nursing and at least four (4) years full time or full-time equivalent clinical experience in nursing within the past ten (10) years, at least one (1) year of which shall be in a home health care agency or community health program that included care of the sick at home. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff. Must be able to maintain professionalism, use prudent judgment, and work well under pressure.
