The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various clinical settings, including acute care, long-term care, and specialized healthcare environments. This leadership role requires a proactive approach to patient care management, team supervision, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The RN Supervisor will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of patient safety, quality care, and staff development within our healthcare facility. Duties Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during the 3-11 shift, ensuring effective team management and optimal patient care delivery. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations. Ensure compliance with nursing policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards across all clinical activities. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with diverse needs including geriatrics, behavioral health, dementia care, and developmental disabilities. Manage medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheterization, tube feeding, and sterile processing while maintaining aseptic technique. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic for accurate documentation and data management. Provide mentorship and supervision to nursing staff, fostering professional development and ensuring adherence to nursing leadership standards. Participate in discharge planning, utilization review, case management, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration in the applicable state. Extensive experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; experience with Level II trauma centers is preferred. Proven supervisory or nurse management experience within long-term care facilities or hospital settings. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Cerner or Epic; familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding is advantageous. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or complex medical conditions such as dementia or behavioral health issues. Competence in medication administration, IV insertion/infusion, venipuncture, catheter care, and airway management including ventilator support. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws governing nursing practice and long-term care regulations. Excellent communication skills for managerial coordination and team collaboration; ability to handle triage efficiently. Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are highly desirable.
