Opening Date 03/23/2026 DESCRIPTION BENEFITS QUESTIONS General Description of the Position The nursing Clinical Coordinator is a full-time staff position. The Clinical Coordinator will have the primary responsibility for the clinical and/or practicum preceptor placement of nursing students in consultation with course leaders. In consultation with course leaders, the Clinical Coordinator will locate, approve and place students in their respective sites and serve as the direct contact between agencies and the nursing department. The position reports directly to the Chairperson of the Department of Nursing or designee to facilitate the clinical experiences of students as defined by the curriculum of study. Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The following are the functions essential to performing this job: 1. Establish and maintain contacts with clinical agencies and/or clinical sites. a. The clinical coordinator will attend all clinical agency and/or site mandatory meetings to keep abreast of all policies. b. The clinical coordinator will report all clinical agency and/or site changes to the Department of Nursing faculty and Chairperson. 2. Arrange all clinical placements each semester for the Departments of Nursing. a. The clinical coordinator will notify and/or negotiate, as needed, the number of placements in all clinical agencies and/or sites in a timely manner. b. Prior to the end of each academic year or semester, depending on agency protocols, the clinical coordinator will obtain clinical placement needs from the faculty for the next semester (i.e., Fall semester placements will be obtained prior to the end of the Spring semester). 3. Maintain all agencies and/or clinical site contracts. a. Have all contracts completed in a timely manner. b. Obtain all required signatures in a timely manner. c. Secure all contracts in a safe and confidential manner. d. Monitor clinical events, problems and/or situations, reporting to the Departments of Nursing Chairperson. 4. Maintain all Department of Nursing surveys used in data collection. a. Develop a schedule for sending Department of Nursing surveys, Community Affiliating Agency Evaluation forms, Clinical Affiliating Agency Evaluation forms, and Post Undergraduate Surveys. b. Maintain and update all cover, reminder, and thank you letters, as needed. c. Maintain and keep all data in a readily accessible statistical format (SPSS and/or Excel). d. Maintain all surveys in an electronic format. e. As needed, maintain IRB approval. 5. Ensure student compliance with all requirements for clinical placements. a. The clinical coordinator will monitor and maintain background check data for students in the Department of Nursing. b. Maintain the contract with Castle branch c. Provide clinical faculty with a list of students who are eligible for clinical. d. Send and maintain clinical requirement letters to students. e. Follow through with students whose criminal or health clearance data are missing or outdated. 6. Maintain data and write all reports related to students and clinical agencies and/or sites. 7. Perform annual agency and/or clinical site visits. a. The clinical coordinator will maintain and write all annual reports, accreditation reports, Board of Nursing reports, Department reports related to students and their clinical agencies and/or site. b. All reports to be submitted to the Department of Nursing Chairperson. Individuals in this job may be assigned additional tasks on a rotating or as-needed basis. Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Individuals must: 1. Possess excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills(communication, writing, and knowledge of contracts); 2. Possess an in-depth knowledge of data collection and analysis, and 3. Be able to anticipate needs related to this position and its responsibilities, and make appropriate recommendations in a timely manner to the Department of Nursing Chairperson. Qualification Standards 1.Education:
Master's degree in nursing required 2. Current license in the state of Delaware or eligible for licensure in Delaware 3. Current clinical experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care within the last 3 years (in-patient preferred) 4. Knowledge of current trends related to agencies requirements 5. Experience with staffing and or scheduling Other preferences: Teaching experience in higher education Demonstrated ability of working with diverse student/faculty population(s) Knowledge of curriculum developmentSimilar jobs in Dover, DE
