Job Description

RN Unit Manager Belleair Health Care Center , a 120-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Clearwater , is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager to join our nursing leadership team. This is a full-time, salaried leadership position working Monday through Friday , with participation in a shared on-call rotation with other nurse managers . We are looking for an RN who is organized, clinically strong, approachable, and able to lead a team with accountability while maintaining positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and staff. The Unit Manager is responsible for the overall clinical management and day-to-day operations of an assigned nursing unit, with a strong focus on quality outcomes, resident satisfaction, staff performance, and regulatory compliance. Position Responsibilities The RN Unit Manager will: Provide daily clinical leadership and oversight for the assigned nursing unit Supervise, support, and provide direction to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs Conduct routine resident rounds and remain visible and accessible to staff, residents, and families Monitor resident conditions and ensure changes in condition are identified, documented, communicated, and followed through appropriately Ensure physician orders, care plans, treatments, medications, and nursing interventions are carried out accurately and timely Review nursing documentation for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate follow-up Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and communicate resident needs across departments Develop strong relationships with residents and families and address concerns promptly and professionally Assist the DON and ADON with resolution of clinical concerns, grievances, and resident or family issues Monitor incidents, falls, skin concerns, hospital transfers, and other clinical events for appropriate intervention and follow-up Ensure appropriate completion of admission, transfer, and discharge processes Monitor new admissions to ensure orders, assessments, medications, treatments, and required documentation are completed accurately Ensure effective shift-to-shift communication and follow-through on outstanding clinical concerns Provide staff education, coaching, recognition, and corrective action when necessary Monitor staff performance, attendance, assignment completion, and adherence to facility expectations Assist with orientation and training of newly hired nursing staff Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and excellent customer service throughout the unit Provide direct nursing care when necessary to support resident needs and unit operations Assist with survey readiness and participate in state and federal survey processes Participate in the facility's shared nurse-manager on-call rotation Maintain compliance with facility policies and applicable federal and state regulations What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license Previous skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience Previous supervisory or Unit Manager experience strongly preferred Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to effectively supervise, coach, and develop nursing staff Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and ensure appropriate follow-through A calm, professional, and solutions-oriented leadership style Schedule & Position Type Monday through Friday Full-time salaried position Shared on-call rotation with other nurse managers Why Belleair?
