Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Medical-Surgical unit in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will combine direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, coordinating daily unit operations to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. You will assess, plan, and implement nursing care, mentor staff, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee daily nursing care on a medical-surgical unit to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and care planning Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff, supporting evidence-based practice Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care Monitor patient progress, respond to changes in condition, and escalate concerns as needed Support staffing, scheduling, and workflow to optimize unit efficiency Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and documentation requirements Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives Support onboarding and ongoing development of nursing staff through coaching and feedback Required Skills Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment Care planning and coordination Medication administration and IV therapy Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Clinical leadership and charge nurse skills Interdisciplinary team collaboration Patient and family education Quality and patient safety practices Regulatory and hospital policy compliance
