varies- Day shift or evening Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) serves as the clinical supervisor on shift and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day nursing operations within the assisted living community. This role includes medication administration (including insulin injections), supervision of caregiving staff, resident assessments, coordination with families and healthcare providers, and ensuring quality care in accordance with state regulations and facility policies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Care Administer medications as prescribed, including insulin injections and other injectable medications Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns promptly Perform routine nursing assessments and document findings accurately Provide basic nursing care and treatments within scope of practice Ensure proper medication storage, documentation, and MAR accuracy Shift Supervision Act as the charge nurse / supervisor on shift Supervise and support caregivers and med techs Assign duties and ensure adequate staffing coverage Provide guidance, direction, and on-the-spot training as needed Address immediate staff or resident concerns during the shift Resident & Family Communication Communicate with residents and families regarding care needs, changes in condition, and concerns Serve as a point of contact for family members during assigned shift Provide compassionate, professional customer service to residents and families Coordination & Collaboration Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, home health agencies, and other providers Carry out provider orders accurately and timely Assist with care coordination and follow-up appointments as needed Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation Ensure compliance with state regulations, facility policies, and care plans Assist with incident reporting and follow-up Participate in quality assurance and infection control practices Additional Duties Assist with admissions, assessments, and care plan updates as needed Respond to emergencies and follow established protocols Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Executive Director Qualifications Current Florida LPN license in good standing Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or geriatric nursing preferred Experience with insulin administration required Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to supervise staff and manage shift responsibilities Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions "
