3003329636-2 Apply for this job now Job Description HCA Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Labor & Delivery unit. In this role, you will coordinate patient care, support L&D nursing staff, and ensure adherence to clinical standards and safety protocols. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, mentoring team members, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates are experienced RNs with strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills, committed to compassionate, patient-centered care and continuous learning in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive bedside nursing care to laboring, antepartum, postpartum patients and newborns using evidence-based practices. Perform and document thorough maternal, fetal, and newborn assessments, including interpretation of electronic fetal monitoring tracings. Assist with and support vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including preparation, intra-procedure care, and immediate postpartum stabilization. Respond rapidly to obstetric and neonatal emergencies, following established protocols for conditions such as postpartum hemorrhage and preeclampsia. Coordinate daily clinical workflow on the labor and delivery unit, including patient flow, bed placement, and support for safe staffing assignments. Serve as a clinical resource and point of escalation for nursing staff during assigned shifts, helping to resolve clinical or operational issues. Mentor, coach, and precept new nurses and students, reinforcing policies, procedures, and standards of care for labor and delivery. Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia providers, neonatal teams, and ancillary staff to ensure integrated, patient-centered care. Provide clear and compassionate education to patients and families on labor, delivery, pain management, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care. Ensure accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record and adherence to safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and unit-based councils that aim to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes and patient experience.
