Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Manager Respiratory Therapy to lead a high-performing respiratory care team. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, staffing, and clinical quality for respiratory services, ensuring safe, evidence-based care for patients across acute and specialty settings. You will manage performance, training, and compliance with regulatory standards while collaborating with physicians, nursing, and leadership to optimize protocols, equipment use, and patient outcomes. Responsibilities Lead and supervise respiratory therapy staff and daily operations Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based respiratory care Develop schedules, manage staffing levels, and allocate resources Oversee staff training, competency, and performance evaluations Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital policies Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and leadership on patient care plans Monitor quality metrics and implement process improvements Manage equipment usage, maintenance, and supply inventory Support protocol development and standardization of respiratory practices Promote a culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous learning Required Skills Respiratory therapy clinical expertise Ventilator management Arterial blood gas interpretation Pulmonary function testing Staff supervision and scheduling Quality improvement and clinical audit Regulatory and accreditation compliance Electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration
