Job Description:
Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations. Fosters a culture of psychological safety, where the team members feel supported, valued, empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully. Promotes evidence-based practice, ensuring quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning. Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels. Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns and provide guidance. Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital policies while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness. Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care. Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals. Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be a mature, self-motivated and self-driven individual who has learned is an excellent self-leader. [Required] Must be able to adjust to demanding hours, diverse circumstances, work independently and dependently of others and have a high level of effective collaboration with varying constituencies. [Preferred] Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to maintain flexibility in schedule and adapt to varying deadlines and changing priorities. [Required] Must be detail oriented and must have an excellent understanding of applicable nursing, clinical and patient statutory policies and regulations. [Required]
Education:
Associate's of Nursing [Required] Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
Related clinical experience you would expect of a person who has led other leaders. [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) [Required] Basic Life Support•CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required] Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
