Job Description

As an RN IMCU Clinical Nurse Coordinator at HCA Healthcare, you will provide and coordinate high-quality patient care for intermediate care/step-down patients. You will oversee daily clinical operations, support and mentor bedside nurses, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans. Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, administering medications, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, and promoting patient safety. You will help drive quality initiatives, support staff education, and model HCA's culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous learning. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to IMCU/step-down patients following evidence-based protocols Coordinate daily clinical operations and patient flow on the unit Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans and patient goals Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff and ancillary team members Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and accurately Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and safety protocols Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans Support orientation and ongoing education of unit nursing staff Required Skills Intermediate care/step-down nursing Cardiac and telemetry monitoring IV therapy and medication administration Clinical assessment and critical thinking Care coordination and discharge planning Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Leadership and staff coordination Patient and family education Quality and patient safety practices Interdisciplinary team collaboration
