This permanent, onsite leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced Operating Room (OR) nurse leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while driving operational excellence in a fast-paced acute care environment. Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services, the Nurse Manager will oversee the daily operations of multiple perioperative departments within a Level II Trauma Center and lead a high-performing team dedicated to quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. Candidates must reside within approximately 45 minutes of the facility or be willing to relocate. The Nurse Manager of Surgical Services will provide clinical and operational leadership for the Operating Room (OR), Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), Anesthesia, and Sterile Processing departments. This leader will be responsible for staffing, scheduling, physician collaboration, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, resource management, and employee development while ensuring efficient department operations and outstanding patient outcomes. The role oversees approximately 50 full-time employees and up to 80 team members including PRN staff. The ideal candidate is a hands-on perioperative leader with recent acute care Operating Room leadership experience and a strong background in surgical nursing. This individual will partner closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, executive leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize workflow, improve patient throughput, maintain regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within Surgical Services.

Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day operational and clinical leadership for the Operating Room (OR), CVOR, Anesthesia, and Sterile Processing departments, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered surgical care Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, performance evaluations, employee coaching, hiring support, and disciplinary processes while leading a multidisciplinary team of nursing and surgical services professionals Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient throughput, optimize surgical workflows, and enhance quality and patient satisfaction Ensure compliance with Joint Commission (JCAHO) standards, hospital policies, regulatory requirements, infection prevention protocols, and perioperative best practices Oversee departmental resources, including equipment, supplies, and budgets, while driving quality improvement initiatives, operational efficiency, and employee engagement

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) required; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Diploma in Nursing, or higher required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida or ability to obtain Florida licensure prior to employment Minimum of 1 year of recent (within the last year) acute care Operating Room leadership experience as a full-time Charge Nurse, OR Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Manager required (Relief Charge Nurse experience does not qualify) Minimum of 3 years of recent Registered Nurse Operating Room experience within an acute care hospital required CNOR certification preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within 6 months of hire Strong knowledge of perioperative operations, surgical services, sterile processing, staffing, scheduling, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, physician collaboration, and patient safety initiatives Excellent leadership, communication, critical thinking, organizational, financial, and relationship-building skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a high-volume acute care surgical environment #IND123
