Job Description:
Provides leadership to facilitate the development of the hospital's mission, vision, and values within the department. Manages day-to-day operations, including staffing and patient flow, under the direction of the Director. Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, payroll functions, documentation and performance evaluations. Assists at the bedside as needed while maintaining clinical competencies. Promotes a positive patient experience using best practices as outlined by the Chief Nursing Officer. Plans, designs, directs, integrates, and coordinates nursing care for specific age groups according to service standards. Assists leadership with strategic planning, operational plans, service designs, resource allocation, and organizational policies. Provides leadership for patient care and support services, communicates objectives, and coordinates efforts to integrate these services throughout the hospital. Improves performance by establishing expectations, plans, and priorities; manages performance improvement processes within the department. Implements processes to measure, assess, and improve the performance of management, clinical, and support processes. Teaches and coaches staff and department leadership to improve skills and knowledge. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Must have the ability to develop outstanding rapport and work well with the physicians & staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present information to both large and small groups
  • Computer knowledge and skills, prior experience with an Electronic Health Record
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (Joint Commission, OSHA, Specialty Standards) strongly [Preferred]
  • Demonstrates behaviors and attitudes that promote positive co-worker, customer, visitor, and physician relations
  • Models critical thinking skills and serves as a resource for employees
  • Demonstrates knowledge of regulations that guide nursing services by updating policies, practices, and procedures while ensuring compliance
  • Ability to demonstrate the organization's mission and values
  • Strong leadership, team development, and strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use various software programs, including but not limited to specific health record systems and Microsoft® Office suite
Education:
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
  • Master's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
  • 1+ acute care progressive care experience [Required]
  • 2+ leadership experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
  • Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) [Preferred]
Pay Range:
