Job Description

OhioHealth is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure high-quality, patient-centered care, and support clinical staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance management. You will coordinate staffing, collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and promote evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Provide daily leadership and supervision for nursing staff on assigned unit, ensuring safe, high-quality, and compassionate patient care aligned with Ohio Health policies and standards of practice. Coordinate staffing, patient assignments, and workload distribution to maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and support efficient patient flow. Serve as a clinical resource and role model for bedside nurses, offering guidance in assessment, critical thinking, evidence-based interventions, and patient and family education. Foster a culture of inclusivity, respect, and teamwork, promoting Ohio Health's commitment to diversity, equity, and compassionate care. Oversee orientation, onboarding, and ongoing development of nursing staff, including coaching, performance feedback, and support for professional growth and certification. Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and ancillary staff to develop and implement effective, patient-centered care plans. Monitor clinical outcomes, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction scores; identify opportunities for improvement and lead or support quality and process-improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies and procedures. Participate in budget-conscious decision-making related to staffing, supplies, and resource utilization while maintaining quality care standards. Respond to clinical emergencies and complex patient situations, providing direct support and escalation as needed. Engage in and promote continuous learning, evidence-based practice, and innovation, supporting staff participation in education, in-services, and training. Communicate effectively with patients and families, addressing concerns, facilitating shared decision-making, and upholding Ohio Health's mission and values.
