Job Description
Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Charge RN for our Inpatient Heart Failure unit on the night shift. In this leadership role, you will coordinate daily unit operations, oversee bedside nurses, and ensure safe, evidence-based care for complex heart failure patients. Responsibilities include staffing assignments, patient flow, escalation of clinical concerns, and collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. You will mentor and support team members, foster a culture of respect and inclusion, and participate in quality and safety initiatives. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate night shift operations on the inpatient heart failure unit Oversee patient assignments, staffing, and patient flow to optimize safety and quality Provide direct cardiac and heart failure nursing care using evidence-based practices Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans and transitions Mentor, coach, and support nursing staff, promoting professional development Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient condition promptly Escalate critical clinical issues and support complex decision-making at the bedside Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety initiatives Facilitate effective communication with patients and families regarding care plans Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives for the unit Required Skills Cardiac nursing Heart failure management Telemetry monitoring Charge nurse leadership Staff supervision Care coordination Electronic health records (EHR) IV medication administration Patient and family education Clinical decision-making
