The nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering quality care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, addressing operational issues during their shift, and providing clinical care as needed based on patient census. They communicate patient care needs, departmental issues, and staff concerns to leadership and serve as a resource for staff guidance and assistance. The minimum requirements include a graduate of a nursing program, one year of hospital nursing experience, a current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC multistate license, and BLS certification. Preferred qualifications are two or more years of hospital experience, a bachelor's degree, advanced certifications in specialty areas, and demonstrated clinical competency.
