The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, strong leadership abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will oversee nursing staff, ensure compliance with policies, and promote high standards of patient care across diverse clinical settings. This role offers an opportunity to influence patient outcomes positively while fostering a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities Supervise and manage nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure optimal team functioning. Coordinate patient care activities, including assessments, treatment planning, and medical documentation, ensuring adherence to healthcare standards and policies. Oversee compliance with HIPAA regulations, state healthcare laws, and long-term care regulations to maintain legal and ethical standards. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and efficient workflow management. Conduct patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations while ensuring appropriate interventions are implemented promptly. Manage medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and sterile techniques in accordance with best practices. Facilitate discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Requirements Valid RN licensure with current state registration; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Extensive clinical experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; experience in emergency medicine or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Demonstrated supervisory or nurse management experience within long-term care facilities or acute care environments. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation and workflow management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and healthcare regulations including HIPAA and state laws. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, behavioral health patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs. Excellent managerial communication skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.
