Monday through Friday, 2nd shift from 1:30pm-10:00pm with flex scheduling or weekends as needed.Charge Nurses are responsible for:
Distributes work flow in the department, delegates and prioritizes assignments to nursing staff in accordance with their level of training and client's acuity. Develops and posts shift schedules. Organizes and assists with staff meetings Coordinates client care and implementation of treatment plans by nursing staff: Assists with health screening and assessment of clients' condition and aids to plan and administer client care Checks for completeness and accuracy of patient care plans to ensure adherence to accepted standards Evaluates clients' behavior and / or condition to update / revise plan of care and inform physicians of any changes in clients' status and medication changes. Monitors client plan of care and evaluates clients' conditons. Detects any issues that could result in injuries or other difficulties for clients or staff members and guides nursing staff through appropriate course of action Reviews client records and audits client medical charts, EMAR, physician order transcriptions to ensure contractual and local, state and federal regulations compliance Trains, develops, monitors, and evaluates performance of nursing staff: Participates in staff evaluations reviews Provides input regarding individual employee evaluations, suggests competency review, and advises on training to educate nursing staff Utilizes formal and informal venues, including peer consultation, mentorship, preceptor programs, unit conferences, case studies, patient rounds, and in-service programs to educate staff Contributes to development and implementation of procedures and processes related to client care. Assists with the establishment of criteria for client care in the quality improvement plan Provides patient / family education: explains discharge instructions and hands out appropriate information sheets Monitors site medical equipment and inventory, initiates repairs, orders medical supplies and medication Performs other duties as assigned, including emphasis on providing a direct client careJob Requirements:
Associate degree is required. Bachelor degree in Nursing or health related field preferred Current Registered Nurse license as required by the State Three to five (3-5) years of progressively responsible nursing experience, preferably including some supervisory experience and at least 1 year of experience in psychiatric and / or substance abuse field Comprehensive knowledge of theories, principles and concepts of nursing and nursing principles in order to plan, evaluate, and provide expertise in the development, implementation, and management of an effective nursing program Working knowledge of JCAHO requirements and standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) High analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail Strong organizational skills Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to quickly and accurately assess clients' conditions Ability to efficiently handle emergencies and remain calm in stressful situationsPhysical Requirements:
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally. Ability to speak in order to conduct training sessions, exchange information, and consult with others Ability to record and proofread required information and documentation Ability to respond to telephones and pages, and hear speechCompensation :
Range is between $34.63 - $53.00 per hour Team members in eligible nursing roles working 2nd shift (between 2:00 PM and 12:00 AM CST) receive: An additional $2.00/hour Monday through Friday An additional $4.00/hour on Saturdays and Sundays Starting rates are determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and relevant skills.
