This is a direct-hire opportunity for an experienced OR Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills and demonstrated charge nurse experience. The surgical department consists of 15 operating rooms and performs approximately 25-45 cases per day across a broad range of surgical specialties. Key Responsibilities Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative process. Support daily clinical operations within a 15-suite operating room department . Provide charge nurse leadership and coordinate OR activities, staff assignments, patient flow, and surgical schedules as appropriate. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ensure appropriate documentation throughout the surgical experience. Maintain compliance with established operating room policies, procedures, infection-control standards, and patient-safety requirements. Assist with coordinating resources and responding to changing clinical and operational priorities in a high-volume surgical environment. Support approximately 25-45 surgical cases per day across multiple specialties. Promote effective communication and teamwork among surgical services staff. Serve as a clinical resource and provide guidance to OR team members as needed. Surgical Specialties The operating room supports a diverse range of procedures, including: General Surgery Gynecology (GYN) Urology Plastic Surgery Robotic Surgery Neurosurgery Orthopedics Spine Surgery EENT Cardiothoracic Surgery Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Illinois State Board of Nursing . Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association . Minimum of 2-3 years of progressively responsible Operating Room nursing experience . Previous Charge Nurse experience is required. Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, surgical procedures, patient safety, and operating room standards. Ability to work effectively in a busy surgical environment supporting multiple specialties. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and clinical decision-making skills.
